Job Description

- Supervise and review the preparation of resettlement action plans (RAPs) in direct consultation with the impacted communities and other stakeholders;
- Ensure a satisfactory implementation of the RAPs through frequent visits to the investment sites;
- Keep the community in general and the impacted households in particular informed of the project schedule through public meetings;
- Establish the Grievance and Redress Mechanism and ensure that the complaints are adequately documented and addressed;
- Monitor the implementation of Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP);
- Ensure that all social assessments are prepared with active public consultations and community participation.
- Review documentations related to the investment areas, based on the thorough analysis of statutory, customary and regulatory frameworks, the nature of investments and their impacts, so as to ensure compliance with the donor’s safeguards policies and frameworks. Generally act as a community liaison person and be the social “eyes & ears” for the SPIU and the local authorities;
Job Profile
Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in sociology, social sciences, development studies, community development, rural and family socio
- economy, or social works for vulnerable populations with minimum of At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar field. A combination of several specializations is an added value Key technical skills and knowledge required:
- the candidate must have proven skills in grassroots community support, monitoring and management of projects or sub
- projects in rural areas;
- Experience in working with international organizations providing support in social or socio
- economic fields;
- Good communication and social skills; the candidate must show initiative, synthesis, organization and personal dynamism, as well as capacity to work with teams and prepare adequate planning and activity reports; Computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PPT, etc…)
