Job Description
The District and Feeder Roads Inspection and Maintenance Senior Engineer is in charge of working closely with the Districts to define broad priorities in the preservation and improvement of the District and feeder roads Network. Reporting: The District and Feeder Roads Inspection and Maintenance Senior Engineer reports to the Division Manager of District and Feeder Roads Division. The main duties and responsibility of the District and Feeder Roads Inspection and Maintenance Senior Engineer are as following: 1. Work closely with the Asset management unit in the preparation of road condition map for the District roads and in preparation of priority list of District and feeder roads for maintenance interventions 2. Carry out Periodic inspections of the District and feeder Road network and report on the status 3. Assist the District in the preparation of Terms of Reference, procurement of consultants, reviewing and validation the detailed study report, procurement of contractors and supervision of road projects in the District 4. To participate in the compilation of progress report for improvement of District and feeder roads network 5. Monitor all road project activities, expenditures and progress towards achieving the project output 6. Monitor and evaluate overall progress of road project on achievement of results; 7. Monitor the sustainability of the project's results; 8. Provide feedback to the Division Manager on project strategies and activities 9. Suggest strategies to the Project Management for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project by identifying bottlenecks in completing project activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks 10. Prepare the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual progress Report on all project activities to the Division Manager 11. Design the framework for the physical and process monitoring of program activities 12. Promote a results
- based approach to monitoring and evaluation, emphasizing results and impacts 13. Prepare and organize trainings to Districts and local people in maintenance of District roads 14. Organize trainings on routine maintenance of District and Feeder roads by local community associations with basic skill for routine maintenance works 15. Compile the quarterly and annual reports on routine maintenance of road network 16. Advise the Division of any problem for the appropriate actions 17. To comply with RTDA’s requirements
Job Profile
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Road Engineering & Construction or Civil Infrastructure Engineering with 3 years of relevant working experience or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Road Engineering & Construction, Civil Infrastructure Engineering, Pavement Engineering or Highway Engineering. Key technical skills and knowledge required:
- Deep understanding of Government policies implementation;
