Job Description
Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems; Install and maintain network hardware and software; Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users; Identify user needs and determine network and system requirements; Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security; Ensure network connectivity and regularly check whether the Institution's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on as per requisite technical considerations; Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of active directory services; Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records; Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes; Assist staff in computer system use and networking; Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers; Maintain network servers such as file servers, Virtual Private Network gateways, intrusion detection systems; Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, office phones, personal digital assistants, software deployment, security updates and patches; Analyze equipment performance records in order to plan and budget for the need of repair or replacement; Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records; Produce an inventory of all PC hardware and software, virus protection; Carry out other task as assigned by her/his supervisor.
Job Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering or ICT related field Key Technical Skills and Knowledge required Integrity ; Planning and organisational skills; Time management skills; Good knowledge of institutional ICT policy; Interpersonal skills ; Team working and collaboration skills; Good command of oral language skills and writing ability. Fluent in Kinyarwanda and English or French
