Job Description
. Create a system that facilitate effective collection and correction of data . Collect data and evidences for elaboration of sector policies, strategies and plans . Analyse, interpret data and categorize sex disaggregated data at all levels . Cross check and triangulate the institution’s available data and figures with publically available sources . Report drafting and submission to the Permanent Secretary . Provide an essential framework to be used in the collection, preparation, recording and use of statistics . Undertake important recommendations for research . Ensure regular update of the gender and databank . Collaborate with technical staff in developing tools that facilitate stakeholders to harmonize and exchange gender and Ministry related information . Collaborate with NISR and other sectors to ensure collection and reporting of sex disaggregated data at all level . Work closely with technical staff and NISR . Ensure regular update of the education indicators and baseline . Provide Technical advice to the Ministry and stakeholders in area of education statistics . Collect the data and evidence for elaboration of sector policies, strategies and plans. . Cross check and triangulate the institution’s available data and figures with publically available sources . Provide the needed information during the planning and budgeting process.
Job Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, Management Information Technology, Information Management System with 3 years working relevant experience or a Master’s Degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, Management Information Technology, Information Management System. Key technical skills & knowledge required:
- Deep understanding of Research Methodologies and Statistics Concepts;
- Knowledge of various statistical software packages;
- Knowledge to Prepares and publishes statistical and technical reports and research papers;
- Knowledge of the theory, systems and application of statistical research methodology;
- Computer skills;
- Organisational skills;
- Communication skills;
- High analytical skills;
- Time management skills;
- Team working skills;
- Fluent in Kinyarwanda, English or French; knowledge of all these three (3) languages is an advantage.
